1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using PointsPilot ("the Service"), operated by PointsPilot ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

PointsPilot is a points optimization and comparison platform that helps Australian frequent flyers find the best value for their loyalty program points. Our services include:

  • Points optimization across multiple loyalty programs
  • Cabin Confidence scoring for aircraft swap risk assessment
  • AI-powered travel advice via Captain Byron
  • Flight deal alerts and notifications
  • Educational blog content about loyalty programs

3. Account registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Subscriptions and payments

Free tier

PointsPilot offers a free tier with limited features. No payment is required.

Paid subscriptions

Premium features are available via paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to:

  • Pay the subscription fees displayed at the time of purchase
  • Automatic renewal at the end of each billing period unless cancelled
  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.

Cancellations and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation, you retain access to premium features until the end of your current billing period. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial billing periods.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service without our written consent
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful data

6. Disclaimer — not financial advice

PointsPilot does not provide financial, investment, or professional advice. Our optimization recommendations, AI assistant responses, and blog content are for informational and educational purposes only.

Points valuations, award chart prices, and program rules change frequently. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all information is current or error-free. Always verify pricing directly with the relevant loyalty program before making booking decisions.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to any airline, loyalty program, credit card issuer, or financial institution mentioned on our platform. All airline, program, and product names and logos referenced on the Service are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used for identification and descriptive purposes only.

7. Third-party data and award availability

Award seat availability displayed on PointsPilot is indicative only — always verify directly with the operating airline before transferring points or making booking decisions.

To help you find real-time award seat availability, PointsPilot may surface data sourced from independent third-party aggregators under their respective commercial licenses. We are not the collector or originator of this data. By using availability features on the Service you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Availability data is a point-in-time snapshot and may be cached, delayed, or out of date at the moment you view it.
  • Seats shown as available may be sold, held, or withdrawn by the airline before you complete a booking. Seats shown as unavailable may in fact be bookable.
  • You are solely responsible for confirming availability, pricing, taxes, fees, fuel surcharges, routing rules, and booking conditions directly with the operating airline and/or the loyalty program you are redeeming from, prior to transferring points or paying any booking fees.
  • Program coverage may change, narrow, or disappear without notice if our data provider is required to remove a program, changes its coverage, experiences an outage, or terminates our access. We may remove or disable availability features for any program at any time.
  • PointsPilot is not a travel agent, ticket reseller, or mileage broker. We do not sell, issue, or hold airline tickets, award seats, or loyalty points, and we do not accept payment for bookings. All redemptions are completed by you directly with the relevant loyalty program.
  • We do not guarantee that any specific route, cabin, airline, partner, transfer path, or program will be available, bookable, or offered at the points price displayed.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PointsPilot disclaims all liability for losses arising from reliance on third-party availability data, including (without limitation) points transferred in reliance on displayed availability, transfer fees, taxes, surcharges, non-refundable co-payments, price differences between displayed and actual cost, and consequential costs such as replacement flights, accommodation, or missed connections. This clause is in addition to, and does not limit, Section 9 (Limitation of liability).

8. Affiliate disclosure

PointsPilot may earn commissions through affiliate links when you click through to third-party products or services. This does not affect the price you pay. Our recommendations are based on value analysis, not commission rates. We clearly disclose affiliate relationships where applicable.

9. Intellectual property

All content on PointsPilot — including text, graphics, logos, algorithms, Cabin Confidence scores, and software — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written consent.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, PointsPilot shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
  • Losses resulting from booking decisions made based on our recommendations
  • Changes to loyalty program rules, award charts, or flight availability
  • Service interruptions, data loss, or technical issues

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded or limited.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 6, 7, 9, 10, and 13 survive termination.

12. Changes to these terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
